Commissioning & Acceptance Checklist

Agree the test conditions before the test. Record what was supplied, how it ran, which material was used and which items remain open.

Start with the process duty

Acceptance criteria vary by machine and contract. The signed purchase specification and approved test protocol control the result; this page provides a neutral structure for recording it.

Engineering note: Final ratings, materials, utilities and operating limits must be confirmed in the current technical agreement for the supplied machine.

Practical checklist

Document and visual inspection

  • Model, nameplate and quantity match the order
  • Contact materials and finish match the approved schedule
  • Guards, labels, valves, instruments and cables are present
  • Manuals, drawings, packing list and spare parts are received

Dry run

  • Rotation direction is confirmed
  • Emergency stop and interlocks are tested
  • Noise, vibration, leakage and abnormal heating are checked
  • Controls and instruments respond as documented

Loaded trial

  • Test material and starting condition are recorded
  • Feed rate, time, temperature and operator actions are logged
  • Output, residue and visible product condition are sampled
  • Cleaning, drainability and restart are demonstrated

Handover

  • Operators complete startup, shutdown and cleaning practice
  • Open items have owners and due dates
  • Consumables and critical spares are identified
  • Signed test and training records are retained
