FAT/SAT Evidence Package

A good acceptance package connects the purchase specification to the machine, the test conditions and the signed result.

Start with the process duty

FAT is performed before shipment; SAT is performed after installation at site. The exact tests and acceptance limits must be agreed before testing and should reflect the purchased scope.

Engineering note: Final ratings, materials, utilities and operating limits must be confirmed in the current technical agreement for the supplied machine.

Practical checklist

Before FAT

  • Freeze the approved equipment list and drawings
  • Define test material, duration and measurable acceptance points
  • Agree what can be simulated without production material
  • Identify witnesses and document format

FAT record

  • Machine identity and nameplate photos
  • Visual, dimensional and document inspection
  • Control, safety and functional test results
  • Loaded test inputs and outputs where included
  • Punch-list items with owner and closure date

Before SAT

  • Confirm installation and utility readiness
  • Verify transport damage and preservation
  • Record site modifications
  • Confirm local safety approval and operator availability

SAT and handover

  • Repeat agreed safety and functional checks
  • Record operating data under site conditions
  • Complete operator training
  • Transfer manuals, drawings and spare parts
  • Sign acceptance or a controlled open-item list
