Function & Working Principle
Two pumps allow oil circulation and water/reagent dosing to be managed separately for steady mixing and controlled water addition.
Metered water addition lets the operator match the dose to the oil's gum content rather than over- or under-watering the batch.
Pump-driven circulation keeps the water dispersed through the oil so phospholipids hydrate evenly.
Heating brings the oil to a working temperature that favors gum hydration.
Stainless steel on wetted surfaces resists corrosion and suits food-grade oil processing.
The hydrated gums are collected for settling or onward separation, keeping them out of the degummed oil.
Working principle
Crude oil is warmed and circulated by pump to a consistent temperature suited to hydration.
A measured amount of water is metered into the moving oil stream by the dosing pump so it disperses evenly through the oil.
The water-and-oil mixture is held and agitated while phospholipids absorb the water, swell and become insoluble as hydrated gums.
The hydrated gums, now heavier and insoluble, are settled or sent on for separation, leaving degummed oil for the next refining stage.
