Function & Working Principle
Water dosing and mixing are built in ahead of the centrifuge so the oil is conditioned for separation in the same line.
A centrifuge uses rotational force to separate the heavier hydrated gum phase from the lighter oil quickly.
Linking hydration and centrifugation supports a continuous flow rather than discrete settling batches.
Metered water addition matches the dose to the oil's gum content for effective hydration.
Stainless steel on wetted surfaces resists corrosion and suits food-grade oil handling.
Distinct discharge paths keep the separated gums apart from the degummed oil stream.
Working principle
Crude oil is warmed and a metered amount of water is added so the gums begin to hydrate.
The oil and water are mixed so phospholipids absorb water, swell and become an insoluble, heavier gum phase.
The mixture enters the centrifuge, where spin force separates the denser hydrated gums from the lighter degummed oil.
The separated gum phase and the clarified degummed oil are discharged from the centrifuge as distinct streams.
