Function & Working Principle
Refining tanks are arranged in the B-Type layout to suit different workshop and process requirements while keeping the standard refining stages.
Agitation disperses water, alkali and bleaching earth evenly so each treatment reacts uniformly across the batch.
Tapered bottoms collect hydrated gums, soapstock and spent earth for discharge, separating impurities from the clarified oil.
Steam or thermal heating brings each batch to the temperature required for hydration, neutralization and bleaching.
Stainless steel on oil-contact surfaces resists corrosion from hot oil, acid and alkali and suits food-grade work.
Pumps move oil between stages and assist reagent addition for orderly batch operation.
Working principle
Water or acid is hydrated into the warm oil so phospholipids swell, become insoluble and settle out through the conical tank bottom.
Alkali is dosed and stirred in to convert free fatty acids into soapstock, which separates from the oil and is discharged, reducing acidity.
The oil is washed to remove residual soap and alkali traces, then heated to drive off moisture ahead of bleaching.
Bleaching earth is mixed in to adsorb pigments and trace impurities, then filtered out to yield a clear, light-colored refined oil.
