Commissioning Service — Your Plant Doesn't Stop Until It Runs Right

Commissioning is where theory meets reality. Our engineers don't leave until your plant is producing oil at the specified yield, your operators know every step of the process, and the equipment has run stable for at least 72 consecutive hours.

What Commissioning Includes — Day by Day

A structured 15-day maximum program. Nothing is left to chance — every step is verified before we move to the next.

Days 1–2

Mechanical Verification

  • Inspect all equipment for transit damage
  • Verify equipment positioning and leveling
  • Check all bolts, couplings, and belt tensions
  • Motor rotation direction test (dry run)
  • Safety guard inspection and lock-out points identified
Days 3–4

Utilities & Electrical

  • Power supply verification (voltage, frequency, phase balance)
  • Motor current draw test (no-load)
  • Steam system pressure test (for refinery)
  • Vacuum system check and integrity test
  • Control panel function test and alarm verification
Days 5–6

Dry Run & First Material

  • Full plant dry run (all machines running simultaneously)
  • First material pass (small batch, 50–100 kg seed)
  • Oil collection and visual quality check
  • Identify and correct any blockages or misalignments
  • Adjust feeding rates and monitor for hot spots
Days 7–10

Parameter Optimization

  • Press speed adjustment for optimal oil yield
  • Conditioner/cooker temperature calibration
  • Refinery cycle parameters set for client's specific oil
  • Oil yield measurement and verification vs specification
  • Residual oil in cake confirmed within specification
Days 11–15

Trial Production & Handover

  • 72-hour continuous trial production run
  • Oil quality testing (FFA, moisture, colour if refinery)
  • Final yield measurement and documentation
  • Operator training (parallel with trial run)
  • Handover certificate signed by client and engineer
  • Support WhatsApp group established with team

The 72-hour rule: we do not sign off until the plant runs continuously and consistently for 72 hours. If issues emerge, commissioning extends — at no additional cost.

"What If Something Goes Wrong During Commissioning?"

In 500+ commissioning projects, we have seen everything. Here are three real categories of challenges we handle routinely.

1

Power Supply Issues

Voltage fluctuations, phase imbalance, and under-specified distribution panels are common in developing markets. We carry a voltage tester and power analyzer to every site. Power issues are identified on Day 1 and we advise on AVR/stabilizer solutions before they have a chance to damage equipment.

2

Raw Material Variations

Some raw materials behave differently than specification — different moisture content, variable oil content, unusual hull characteristics. We adjust press speeds, conditioning temperatures, and refinery chemical dosages based on the actual material in front of us, not theoretical values from a data sheet.

3

Infrastructure Surprises

No steam boiler fuel available, unreliable water supply, LPG instead of natural gas. We have adapted commissioning to use electric-heated refinery vessels (no boiler needed), air-cooled vacuum systems (no cooling water), and LPG-fired boilers as a substitute. No project has ever stopped because of infrastructure issues.

How to Arrange On-site Commissioning

Six clearly defined steps from order confirmation to signed handover. No surprises, no last-minute scrambles.

Order Confirmation

Order confirmed and projected equipment shipping date agreed. Commissioning scope and duration confirmed in the project contract.

4 Weeks Before Arrival

Engineer travel dates booked. Visa application initiated if required. Flight and accommodation confirmed with client. Pre-arrival checklist sent.

1 Week Before

Pre-arrival checklist reviewed with client: foundation status, power supply, utility connections, accommodation, and transport from airport confirmed.

Day 1 On-site

Engineer travels to site and meets client. Site walk-through conducted. Equipment inspection begins. Commissioning schedule set with the client's team.

Commissioning Days 1–15

Full commissioning as per schedule above: mechanical verification, utilities, dry run, parameter optimization, 72-hour trial production, operator training.

Handover & Departure

Commissioning certificate signed by both parties. Remote support WhatsApp group created. After-sales contact established. Engineer departs.

Typical travel costs by region

Africa / South Asia $2,000–$4,000
Southeast Asia / Middle East $2,500–$4,500
South America $3,000–$5,000

All travel costs are at cost — flights, accommodation, local transport, visa. Agreed in contract before booking. Commissioning service is included in all turnkey packages.

Commissioning — Frequently Asked Questions

Answered honestly, from 15 years and 500+ projects.

On-site commissioning service by SinoOil engineers is included in all turnkey project packages. The engineer's travel costs (flights, accommodation, local transport, visa fees) are charged at cost — typically $2,000–$4,000 for most African and Asian destinations, $3,000–$5,000 for South America and Middle East, depending on distance and trip duration. These costs are transparent and agreed in the project contract before any booking is made.
For single machine purchases, we provide remote commissioning support via WhatsApp video call at no charge. This covers: initial setup guidance, parameter settings, troubleshooting during first production runs, and ongoing technical questions. If you later need on-site support, we can arrange an engineer visit — contact us for scheduling and cost estimate.
Our standard commissioning protocol requires a minimum 72-hour continuous trial production run before sign-off. This verifies: stable continuous operation of all equipment without unplanned stops, consistent oil yield at or above specification, stable refinery output quality (FFA, colour, moisture), and operator confidence in independent operation. If the 72-hour run reveals issues, we extend commissioning until resolved — at no additional cost.
Our commissioning engineers communicate in English. For clients in Arabic-speaking countries, we assign English-Arabic bilingual technical support and provide Arabic-language operator manuals. In practice, the hands-on nature of commissioning work (showing, demonstrating, measuring) means language is rarely a barrier — most clients find the combination of English technical terms, demonstrations, and manual references fully workable.
Manufacturing defects discovered during commissioning are covered by our warranty — replacement parts are shipped express freight at our cost. If a component fails due to installation error or site conditions (wrong voltage, contaminated fuel, etc.), we identify the cause honestly and advise on the most cost-effective repair. In 15 years and 500+ commissioning projects, fewer than 3% have had any component failures requiring part replacement.
