What capacity range do Africa case studies cover?
Our 10 Africa case studies cover the full capacity range: from the 5 TPD sesame oil mill in Tanzania (village-cooperative scale) to the 100 TPD continuous oil refinery in Egypt (industrial scale). Most projects fall in the 10–50 TPD range, which represents the typical entry point for commercial-scale processing in Sub-Saharan African markets. Each case study documents equipment list, installation timeline, yield data, compliance certifications, and operating results.
What certifications do Africa oil plants typically require?
Certification requirements vary by country: Nigeria — NAFDAC product registration; Kenya — KEBS certification; Ethiopia — EFSA compliance for EU export; Uganda — UNBS; Ghana — FDA Ghana; Zambia — ZABS; Cameroon — ANOR; Tanzania — TBS; Egypt — EOS; Sudan — SSMO. For EU export (Ethiopia sesame), additional EU food safety documentation is required. We support certification for all these bodies as part of our standard commissioning package.
How long does installation and commissioning take for Africa projects?
Typical timelines: equipment production 45–75 days, ocean freight 25–35 days to African ports (Lagos, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Alexandria, Douala, Durban), customs clearance 7–21 days, on-site installation and commissioning 7–21 days depending on plant size. Total order-to-operation: 90–150 days for most projects. Our Tanzania and Uganda projects (5–10 TPD) were commissioned in 7 days on-site. The Egypt 100 TPD refinery required 21 days of commissioning. We provide commissioning engineers for all Africa projects.
